Taj Chia Kutir Resort & Spa Darjeeling

We had an absolutely amazing stay at Taj Chia Kutir Darjeeling! Nestled in the heart of the hills, the tranquil atmosphere was perfect for unwinding. The tea plantation trek was a highlight, offering breathtaking views and a serene experience. The free yoga classes were a wonderful addition, helping us feel completely rejuvenated. The food was delicious, with a variety of flavorful options to suit every palate. Above all, the staff were exceptional – attentive, warm, and incredibly helpful. It was truly a memorable stay, and we can't wait to return!

Our stay at Taj Chia Kutir was truly felt like home. A special mention to Mr Yogesh for helping us with entire booking process and making sure our experience was nothing but phenomenal. From the moment we arrived, the hospitality was exceptional. Lokesh, Geshika, Daksha, Reema and Bhaska were incredibly helpful, with Geshika going above and beyond to assist me with everything. Again a special thanks to Lokesh and Geshika for the beautiful surprise decor for my parents’ 25th anniversary, making their day unforgettable. The valley trek with Praju was hands down my best experience. He was friendly, helpful, and made it truly memorable. Visiting the kitchen with Mr. Pawan was next best experience. It was impeccably maintained with separate sections for each food category. I even got to learn baking from chefs Amrita & new trainee guy from Kolkata. The live singing in the evening was soulful, and every moment at the property was top-notch. I highly recommend Taj Chia Kutir for its outstanding hospitality and warmth.

Property nd Staff is v good but its expensive. Overall experience was good. Mr Sarkar was v good. Property is neat nd clean. I suggest to make it little reasonable. Also there was some constrution going on near the property which was a trouble during day time.

Review of Taj Chia Kutir, Darjeeling We stayed at Taj Chia Kutir, Darjeeling, from 15th to 17th February 2025 to celebrate our 13th wedding anniversary. While the property itself is stunning and the overall stay was pleasant, our experience was significantly marred by poor service coordination, which ruined our special occasion. Service Disappointment Before our arrival, our travel agent coordinated with Mr. Rishi, the F&B Manager, regarding a special anniversary dinner, estimated to cost around ₹25,000. We were advised to connect with him upon arrival, which we did. Mr. Rishi assured us that he would make arrangements and get in touch with us. He even mentioned sharing his contact number, but he never did. Neither did he reach out to us nor did he arrange anything, leading to a complete disappointment. This lack of communication and follow-through showed a serious disregard for guest experience, which is unexpected from a brand like Taj. Other Aspects of the Stay • Property & Ambience: The resort itself is beautiful, offering breathtaking views and a serene atmosphere. • Food: The food was average at best, with a limited spread. For a luxury property, we expected a more diverse and high-quality culinary experience. • Service: Apart from the anniversary dinner mishap, the overall service was decent, but not exceptional. Final Verdict Taj Chia Kutir offers a picturesque setting, but the lack of attention to guest requests and poor service coordination left a bitter taste. For a special occasion, we wouldn’t recommend relying on their team for event arrangements. While the stay was comfortable, this service failure overshadowed our experience. If you’re visiting for a casual getaway, you might enjoy it, but if you’re expecting top-notch service for a special occasion, think twice.

Great hotel and compete in all respects: room, view, staff and cuisine. So many activities ensure that one doesn’t get bored. The camping experience is a highlight and also the tea trial offered by the hotel. We enjoyed local dishes especially the thukpa, red rice and momos
